Terms of Service
Effective September 1, 2026
Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and CourtFluent ("we", "us"), covering your use of the service at courtfluent.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. You must be at least 18 years old.
What CourtFluent is (and isn't)
CourtFluent is a practice and training tool for court, immigration court and medical interpreters, including candidates for oral certification and qualification exams in those settings. It is an independent product: we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the National Center for State Courts, any state court system, the Executive Office for Immigration Review or its language services contractors, USCIS, the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters, any other certifying body, or any exam administrator. Practice scores are our own assessments, produced partly by automated transcription and AI grading, and can be imperfect. They are not predictions, and we make no guarantee that using CourtFluent will result in passing any exam or obtaining any credential.
Accounts
Accounts are personal: one person per account, no sharing of sign-in links or referral codes for resale, and you are responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate information and keep your email current, since sign-in and billing notices go there.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe in US dollars. New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial that requires a card; your card is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Founding-rate pricing stays locked for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal in Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not prorate partial months. If we ever change a price that applies to you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before it takes effect. Refunds outside these rules are at our discretion; email us and we will be reasonable.
Your content
You own your recordings and anything else you submit. You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service: storing your recordings, transcribing them, grading them, and showing them back to you. We do not publish your recordings or share them with other users.
Our content
The exercises, audio, scoring materials, glossary curation, software, and design of CourtFluent belong to us or our licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own exam preparation. You may not copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute course content, or use the service to build a competing product or dataset.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload, or probe the service; don't access other users' data; don't misuse referral codes; and don't upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to submit. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we may refuse or revoke access during the beta at our reasonable discretion (with a refund of any unused period if we do).
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
CourtFluent is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing on CourtFluent is legal advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Termination
You can stop using CourtFluent and cancel at any time. We may suspend or end the service or your access for violation of these terms, and on reasonable notice may discontinue the service, in which case we will refund any prepaid period you did not receive.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida. If we make material changes to these terms, we will email account holders before the changes take effect; continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
