Who we are
CourtFluent ("we", "us") is a training platform for court, immigration court and medical interpreters and for candidates preparing for exams in those settings, based in Florida, United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your choices are. Questions go to support@courtfluent.com.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address, name, and referral code used at signup. We use passwordless sign-in links, so we never store a password.
Exam profile. The state or jurisdiction you selected, your exam date if you set one, your language pair, timezone, and notification preferences.
Practice activity. Your sessions, scores, flashcards, vocabulary test results, saved lessons, and how you grade yourself. This is the core of the product: it powers your progress tracking and your personalized daily plan.
Voice recordings. When you record an interpretation or take a spoken vocabulary test, we store the audio and a transcript so we can grade it and so you can review it. Recordings live in private storage tied to your account; no other user can access them.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers; we store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
How we use your data
To run the service: transcribing and grading your recordings, scheduling your flashcards, building your daily practice plan, tracking your progress, and sending the emails you have turned on (practice reminders, streak alerts, weekly recaps, and test reminders, each of which you can switch off in Settings). We also use aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns to improve exercises and grading. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
Voice recordings and AI
Your recordings are transcribed by a speech-to-text service and evaluated in part by an AI model that compares your words against court-accepted renditions. These providers process your audio and transcripts solely to provide that service to us. We do not permit your recordings or transcripts to be used to train their models. If you want your recordings deleted, email us and we will remove them.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of processors to run CourtFluent: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (hosting), ElevenLabs (speech-to-text and practice audio), Anthropic (AI-assisted grading), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email delivery). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. There are no advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on CourtFluent.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active so your history and progress work. If you close your account, or email us asking for deletion, we delete your personal data, including recordings, within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep (such as billing records).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, recordings are held in private per-user storage, and access to production systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your practice data, and especially your voice, as sensitive.
Children
CourtFluent is built for adults preparing for a professional credential and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 to create an account.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will email account holders before the change takes effect. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
